Abenteuer Deutschland

billyue2.jpgTeil 1

Saarbrücken was to be the first of our German shows on this tour! We arrived at the venue and wondered whether this teeny little venue would hold all the craziness of the German people! We take to the stage and the heat from the crowd hits us. We burst into our first song, "Kalifornia" and all hell breaks loose. The people at the front are all bent over the barriers and there are people crowdsurfing in the small gap between the audiences heads and the REALLY low ceiling. Saarbrücken was a real rock'n'roll gig. Sweat pouring everywhere and the sound was immense. My ears were about to burst!

The Frankfurt Batschkapp is a venue we have visited once before, and it's always a treat arriving at a venue you know and have memories of. Before the show, I decided to take a long walk with our manager into the centre of town to have a look around. We found a computer shop so he could buy another power lead for his laptop and I browsed and ogled the new Apple Macs and then bough some doughnuts. Tasty! The show kicked off and everybody went crazy. It was easily one of the hottest shows we've ever played. I nearly slipped over my own sweat on the stage floor. I had three patches: one from my left arm, one from my right arm and one puddle formed from the sweat coming from my head and dripping off my chin. My hair was EXTREMELY wet! Gross, but slightly amusing! And I thought this show was hot and sweaty, then we arrived in Köln...

thesubway3.jpgKöln was easiest one of the biggest indoor shows we've played in Germany. 1,500 people in one room all ready to dance and go crazy! Onstage it was EVEN hotter and sweatier than Frankfurt! We looked out on the sea of people singing our lyrics, dancing , crowd-surfing (WHICH I LOVE TO SEE!!) and moshing - there was also the occasional circle pit going on. Only three shows in and Germany is kicking ASS!

See you soon!! :-D

We arrive in Bremen after a day off and we're ready to kick out the jams! The venue looked awesome and we were feeling like it was going to be a hot show. We took to the stage after our two fantastic support bands had kicked everybody's arses with their tunes and we hit into our set with ferocity. Halfway through the set a security guard knocks my guitar out of tune whilst pulling a crowdsurfer from the audience and I go into a fit. I couldn't help it! It's one of those times onstage where even the smallest thing can turn me into a lion on heat! During my crowdsurf in "Rock & Roll Queen" I manage to find a great place to dive from so I climb it and take a huge leap and make my way over to the other side. Four fantastic fans hoist me up onto the barrier and I take another leap from that side and come offstage afterwards with serious cuts and bruises. Sexy!!

theusbways.jpgHamburg is a city that we all enjoy being in. The venue (Große Freiheit 36) was in one of our favourite parts of Hamburg, the Reeperbahn! This show was being filmed and streamed online, so I said a hello to everybody watching at home after "Alright" and before "Mary" and watched the crowd go absolutely crazy! These shows on this tour really are something special! For the encore I managed to find my way up onto the balcony for a walk-around before leaping from the left hand side...my head was only a couple of inches from the ceiling! Very close to a knock-out show! :-P

Berlin Huxley's was BIG and BEAUTIFUL building. The stage was nice and high and so was the ceiling. Tonight onstage I felt like I was truly some kind of superhuman. The crowd were magnificent and the dancing and singing and yelling and crowdsurfing that was happening sent shivers up my spine! I danced around the stage and leapt from the drumkit, whilst Josh pounded his heart out on the drums and Charlotte head-banged and stomped her way through her basslines. A huge audience and some really really REALLY loud screaming. I found my way up the lighting rig for the encore and leaped off it from both sides, hoping to hell that the lighting rig doesn't fall to the ground while I'm on it!

This. Tour. Is. Unbeatable!
